53 Degrees! BRRR

This morning Jake comes into our room wakes me up and says our furnance isn't working. So I sit up and immediatly feel the freezing cold air. BRRRR it was 53 degrees in our house! But some how I managed to sleep great last night, I never even noticed the cold air. Poor Tayt though I imagine he was pretty cold considering he kicks his blanket off while he's sleeping after about 5 min. So anyways I go downstairs to the basement with him and take a look at it. As if I know what I'm doing... NOT. I have no clue about that sort of stuff. So anyways we call my parents because their good friends with a "furnance man" and so they call him for me and he says he'll be out at about 9:00. Meanwhile Jake leaves to go to work. So a little bit later the furnance man shows up goes down to our basement, and immediatly noticed the gas knob thing was turned wrong. So he turns it, and bingo the heat comes on! Dang now I'm feeling like and idiot! I was really glad that's all it was, but feeling rather stupid about having him come out for that.
One more thing... Tayt has been a finger sucker since he was really little, about a month old. And not a thumb sucker but his pointer and middle finger. Anyways does anybody have and ideas one how to stop it. I want to try and break the habit early. It's been a great thing since he was never ever a binky baby. It seems to totally comfort him, and calm him down if he's crying. But ever since I weaned him he seems to depend on it more and more. And anyways I just don't want to end up having a 3 year old who sucks their fingers. I want to stop it early, and I'm not really sure how to go about doing it. I pull them out and he puts them right back in.
See what I mean in these pictures....

Props to my great hubby!!

So Jake decided to recruit me today to help him out with work. He does this every so often when he's really busy. And he's swamped right now! Which makes me super happy, we always say being overwhelmed with a ton of work is a much better kind of stress than stresing about no work!!!! But I've got to say everytime I go with him to work I'm reminded about how freaking hard of a worker he is! SERIOUSLY! If any of you have "construction" type workers for a husband you know what I mean. Not that working at an office isn't hard, but physical labor, is a killer.... at least to me! And here I am now sitting down at my computer sore as could be. I did some caulking, sweeping, taping, and sanding. And I swear you have to be an acrobat(sp?) to do that. I was bending in all sorts of postions to try and caulk some stuff. And in the back of my mind I have to admit, I was thinking "who really gives a crap if this super low bottom shelf of a closet is caulked." Because pictures this, I'm lying flat on my back with a big old caulk gun in my hand trying to caulk the corners that are about 5 inches about my head, while caulk and dust and what not is dropping onto my face and getting in my eyes. And that gun is so long that I'm hitting myself in the head with it as I'm trying to move it along the edges. I know woe is me.. but it sucked! And Jake is such a big perfectionist that his answer was "It's got to be done, it's part of the job, I can't leave it." And offering to do it for me. But I declined thinking in my head "okay I can hack this for one day even though I'm sure nobody would want to get in that awkward postion to check and see if it's done right?" So yes that is how I spent most of my day, was hanging out in closets, to super sized food storage closets.
But I did have some good news today, I got home and have been dying to see some wedding pictures that I took last week with Kellee. After I go on a shoot with her she just takes my memory card from me, to start editing. So yes I have been really nervous to see how they turned out. In my mind for the past week I've been thinking in my head, was my exposure right, did I have the right ISO setting, did I use to much flash... and so on. Anyways she called me today and said she really like them, and gave some pointers on how to improve here and there, but basically she gave me a good review! YAY! So you 'll have to go check out her blog. She posted some pictures that I took on there. It's the blog titled "Such a Cute Couple"

to sweet.....

these pictures are just to sweet not to share. my brother and sister in law came over today and we took some pictures. we had taken some of little olivia already but that day my brother wasn't able to come, and my sister in law really wanted some family pictures. so we scheduled again for today. she is 2 weeks old today, and so freaking cute! it makes me sad that me and jake never got a family picture of us when tayt was really small. we did get newborn pictures done of him but no family picture :( and i still wish we had a few more of him from those newborn shots. but the pictures were SO expensive that we didn't order as many as we would of liked to. for example ONE 5 by 7 was $32.00. YIKES! yah that's why we didn't get a ton, espically after you pay the 65.00 sitting fee. but the pictures are beautiful. and i'm so happy we did it. i just wish i had the copy rights with a CD of them. O'well. anyways here is olivia.
