Mean or Necessary???

I think it's necessary Jake seems to think it's just plain mean. And what are we talking about you ask.... well this







We bought one of these a few nights ago, and I put it on Tayt's door inside his bedroom. You see Tayt has been sleeping in our bed between us for the past 8 months or so. And as much as I love to cuddle with the little guy I need my sleep and he needs his sleep and nobody around here has been getting ANY good sleep with this situation. I tried to get things going and get him in his own bed before Mya came and that obviously didn't work out. Yes we'd started getting him more used to the idea of his OWN bed, but it never stuck and he always ended back in bed with us. I'd always say to him before bed




"Tayt your going to be a big boy and sleep in your own bed tonight"


And he would say with a very sad frowny face "I'll cry"



And cry he would. So back in our bed he came, out of guilt and somewhat lazyness you could say. It was much easier to turn on Little Bear and let him fall asleep with out any crying or sadness in our bed. So I decided to wait a little while after Mya was born before trying again, I didn't want him to think he was being booted out because of her. So she is now almost 2 months (sniff sniff) and we going at again with full force. We bath, we put jammies on, we say prayers, we read book, and mom leaves and shuts the door locking him in. He cried for quite sometime the first night, but we are getting better and better. Jake however made the mistake of looking under his door to check on him and not moving fast enough away from the door when Tayt decided to do the same thing and look under the door to. Which started a cry fest of "DADDY"



So here we are a few nights later and the crying is usually only 5 minutes long. But with him grabbing onto my neck with the tighest grip he has as we are ending his story saying "No, Please" But I leave. Feeling totally guilty and sad but I leave. And I always have to be the bad guy because Tayt won't let Jake read to him, he wants me. So I get the dirty work at the end. But slowly I think were getting there and it's SOOOO nice to have my bed back without the little man turning every which way throughout the night while kicking me constantly!


And in the morning he's always so excited and happy to see me and proud of himself for sleeping in there by himself, that is until I mention he was such a big boy and he'll sleep in his own bed again tonight. =)




But he's so dang cute, I just LOVE him!!! And love the little face he's pulling in the last picture, total attitude!

I've made the decision to go private, or maybe it was Jake ;) but either way I'm doing it. So you know what to do give me your e-mail address so I can add you.
